Boltonia asteroids - False Aster
This is must have for your autumn garden. Tall with masses of mauve flowers similar to those of the perennial aster. I grow mine not far from my Jerusalem artichoke as they make a stunning combination when in flower.

Gooseneck loosestrife - Lysimachia clethroides
Lysimachia clethroides flowers late summer attracting beneficial insects to your garden. This plant prefers full sun and can tolerant moist conditions, so it is perfect for growing in boggy positions like the edge of a pond. This perennial develops lovely red autumn colouring before going dormant for winter. Height 90cm when in flower.

Veronicastrum virginicum 'Cohen Jansen Form'
This plant has elegant tall spires of densely arranged, tiny pink flowers in late summer and autumn. 'Cohen Jansen Form' adds architectural interest and is ideal for mass planting with grasses and Verbena bonariensis. Grow Veronicastrum in moderately fertile to humus rich, moist, well drained soil. Plant in a full sun to part shade position. Ensure there is good air flow around the plants. Height in flower 1.5m.

Lysimachia ephemerum (Willow Leafed Loosestrife)
This is a spreading, herbaceous perennial forming a clump of upright stems clad in narrow, grey-green leaves. Small, long-lasting starry white flowers in long, slender terminal racemes appear in early summer, followed by brown seedheads for winter interest.

Inula Magnifica (Magnificent Elecampane)
Inula magnifica is a dramatic looking plant, bearing huge sprays of bright yellow shaggy daisies. Flowers appear from mid summer to early autumn and are up to 15cm in diameter. In contrast are the enormous textured leaves that are aromatic. The basal leaves can reach 90cm in length. It is a a robust, upright perennial growing to 1.8m when in flower.

Platycodon grandiflorus - Balloon Flower White
Balloon flower (Platycodon grandiflorus) is a compact herbaceous perennial with a clumping habit. It is native to China and Japan. Emerging in Spring the plant will quickly get to around 1m in height. At the start of Summer the balloon shaped flower buds form. These buds will burst open revealing large star shaped flowers in either pink, blue or white. Excellent cut flower.

Eurybia divaricata (White Woodland Aster)
Eurybia divaricata (White Woodland Aster), previously known as Aster divaricatus is a herbaceous perennial bearing clusters of bright fragrant white flowers in late summer. This aster is able to be grown in dry shade, making it an excellent understory plant. It can handle both frost and humidity. Height 1m. Aster divaricatus can take the place of Gypsophila in floral arrangements.

Veronica longifolia is a clump-forming, upright perennial native to Europe and Western Asia. From late summer through to autumn, densely packed spikes of tiny, tubular, purplish-blue flowers appear.
