Salvia nemorosa ‘Sensation Deep Blue’

Updated: Feb 17

This plant is perfect for creating a splash of colour in pots or in the garden. ‘Sensation Deep Blue’ is a compact perennial with spikes of deep blue flowers from late October until early January. If cut back hard in early January it will rebloom during late summer and autumn. This is a hardy plant, grow in full sun or morning sun in well drained soil. Keep well watered but not wet. Ideal for rockeries and mass plantings. Grows approx. 30cm tall x 30-50cm wide. Drought tolerant once established and tolerates heat and humidity.

When sowing, remember Salvias need light to germinate (don't cover seeds). Due to the size of the seeds, I recommend sowing seeds in pots. Keep damp, not wet. Seeds will germinate when temperatures are around 20cm. Grow plants to 10cm in height, harden off and plant out.
