Lamb's Ears are a perennial known for their thick velvety foliage that creates a softly textured mat in the garden. This plant is known also for its hardiness. Drought and frost tolerant, thrives in poor soil and loves the sun. Just make sure it doesn't get too wet. It is an excellent plant for rock gardens and dry gardens.

Lamb Ears are suited to a range of growing zones however it does not like humidity.
Mulch to keep the leaves at the base of the plant dry. I do this after the plant has finished flowering. I dead head the flowers and remove any old leaves. This thins the plant out and allows for new leaves to appear keeping the plant looking fresh.
Flower spikes of magenta-pink flowers appear during summer. When in flower, plants are around 45cm tall. When in flower it is a magnet for bees, butterflies and beneficial insects.

Excellent cut flower with a vase life of 10 to 14 days.
Sow seeds during autumn, place seeds on top of the soil and don't cover them as they need light to germinate. Keep seeds damp but not wet. Seeds will germinate when temperatures are around 20cm. Germination can be slow - up to 30 days. Grow plants to around 10cm in height, harden off and plant out.
