This is a hardy, clump-forming perennial with delicate, creamy-lemon pincushion flowers on wiry stems. It is a tough plant. Mine is growing in my footpath garden. It thrives in full sun and well drained soil and handles frost. Another one the bees love. Excellent for cottage gardens and adding soft texture.

Use as a filler flower in floral arrangements to add a delicate, airy texture. Flowers are around 2cm in diameter. Harvest when the first ring of petals is open for maximum vase life, or slightly more advanced for greater visual impact. Vase life 3 to 7 days.

Sow seeds into pots during autumn. Keep damp but not wet. Seeds will germinate when temperatures are around 15 to 20C. Grow onto around 10cm in height, harden off and plant into the garden.

Seeds currently available.
