This is a stunning salvia that showcases flowers of vintage pink, greens, soft browns and blue green scented foliage. Perfect for floral arrangements, it is a florist's dream. Flowers from spring through to autumn. It lasts well in arrangements due to its robust nature.
Salvia lanceolata 'Sand Sage' is a tough, drought-tolerant and frost-hardy. It also thrives in hot, dry, windy, coastal sites and poor sandy soils. A compact, bushy, evergreen shrub growing to a height of 80–100 cm. The only requirements are full sun and well-drained soils. My plant gets morning sun and afternoon shade. Lightly prune after flowering to maintain a tidy shape and promote new growth.
Sow seeds during autumn or early spring, keep seeds damp but not wet. Seeds will germinate when temperatures are around 20cm. Grow plants to around 10cm in height, harden off and plant out.
